If you are driving from the nearest major town, Nyeri, start by heading south on the A2 highway. Follow the signs to Aberdare National Park. Once you reach the entrance of Aberdare National Park, continue along the main road for approximately 25 kilometers. Look for the sign indicating Ark Gate KWS. Turn right onto the Unnamed Road (MR5X+G3J) and follow it for about 5 kilometers until you reach Ark Gate. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain as some parts may be unpaved.

For those using public transport, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from Nyeri to Aberdare National Park. The journey should take around 1 hour and will cost approximately 200 KES. Upon arrival at the park entrance, you can hire a taxi or arrange for a park ranger to drive you to Ark Gate KWS. This last leg of the journey will cost around 1500 KES for the taxi.
