Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from the center of Mount Longonot, start by heading east on the main road (B28) towards Naivasha. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers until you see the sign for Mount Longonot National Park on your left. Turn left onto the access road, which will lead you directly to the park entrance. Note that there is an entrance fee of approximately 30 KES per person for Kenyan citizens and 600 KES for non-residents.

  • Public Transportation (Matatus)

    To reach Mount Longonot National Park using public transport, head to the nearest matatu stage in Mount Longonot. Take a matatu heading towards Naivasha (usually marked with signage). The ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you reach Naivasha town, you will need to take another matatu or a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to the park entrance. The fare for the matatu is about 50 KES and the boda-boda ride should cost around 100 KES. Ensure to negotiate the fare before the ride.

    For the adventurous, biking to Mount Longonot National Park is a thrilling option. Start in Mount Longonot and head east on the B28 towards Naivasha. The distance is roughly 15 kilometers.
