Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Garissa, head southeast on the A12 road towards the town of Mwingi. Continue on this road for approximately 170 kilometers until you reach the junction at Mwingi. Turn right onto the B61 road and follow it for another 50 kilometers until you reach the town of Meru. From Meru, take the A2 road heading towards Nanyuki. After about 70 kilometers, you will see signage for Mount Kenya National Park. Point Lenana is located on Mount Kenya, so you will need to take the road that leads into the national park. Note that you may need to pay an entrance fee for the park, which is approximately KES 1,500 for non-residents.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Point Lenana using public transport, start by taking a matatu or bus from Garissa to Meru. This journey may take around 3-4 hours. Upon arriving in Meru, you can catch another matatu or bus heading to Nanyuki. Once in Nanyuki, you will need to hire a taxi or a local guide to take you to the entrance of Mount Kenya National Park.
