Getting There

Private Car
If you are driving from Taita Hills, head south on the A109 road towards Voi. Continue on the A109 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for Maktau (this will be marked). Turn left onto the C112 road and follow the signs to Maktau. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you arrive at the Northern Maktau Gate of Tsavo West National Park. Make sure to have cash on hand for park entry fees, which are approximately KES 1,000 per adult for residents and KES 1,500 for non-residents.

From Taita Hills, you can take a bus to Voi town. Buses are available from various points in Taita Hills. The fare is around KES 200-300. Once in Voi, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Maktau. The fare for the matatu is approximately KES 150. Inform the driver that you want to be dropped off at the Northern Maktau Gate. Ensure you arrive early as the last matatus leave Voi in the late afternoon.
