Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving within Tsavo National Park, head towards the main exit of the park. Follow the signs to the main road (A109) that leads towards Nairobi. Upon exiting the park, continue on the A109 for approximately 150 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Nairobi. From there, take the Nyeri Road exit and follow the road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the Tsavo Heritage Foundation located at Nyeri Rd, Kileleshwa, Nairobi. Ensure you have enough fuel for the journey, as fuel stations may not be readily available in the park.

• Public Transportation

  If you are relying on public transport, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from any major lodge or camp within Tsavo National Park to the nearest town, which is Voi. From Voi, you can catch a bus or a matatu heading to Nairobi. These typically depart frequently throughout the day. Once you arrive in Nairobi, you will need to find a local matatu or taxi to take you to Nyeri Road in Kileleshwa. The journey from Voi to Nairobi can take between 4 to 6 hours depending on traffic, so plan accordingly. The cost for the matatu from Tsavo to Voi is approximately 300-500 KES, and from Voi to Nairobi, it can range from 800-1200 KES.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from your location within Tsavo National Park to Tsavo Heritage Foundation. This option is more expensive but will provide convenience and comfort. You can negotiate the fare, which may range from 8,000 to 12,000 KES, depending on your specific starting point within the park. Ensure to arrange for the taxi in advance, as this service may not always be available on short notice.
