The total travel time is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Ensure you have a reliable map or GPS. Parking is available near the waterfall. There may be a fee of 45,000 kip to enter the park.

From Vientiane's main bus station, take a bus to Paksan, which takes around 3 hours. Upon arriving in Paksan, hire a tuk-tuk or local taxi to Tad Xai Waterfall. The tuk-tuk ride should cost around 50,000 LAK (approximately $5 USD) and take about 30 minutes. Confirm the route with the driver. From the park entrance, there is a short 400m walk to the falls.
