    The most convenient way to reach Phou Khao Khouay National Park is by private car or taxi from Vientiane. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the specific area of the park you are visiting. From Vientiane, follow Route 13 north or south (depending on which part of the park you want to visit). For Tad Leuk Waterfall, take Route 13 South and turn left at Km 90 (just before Thabok). Follow the road for 5 km to Ban Houay Leuk and continue following signs for 1 km, turning right and crossing an iron bridge over the Nam Leuk river. Drive another 5 km to the park checkpoint where you can pay admission (5,000 kip per person). A taxi from Vientiane to Phou Khao Khouay will cost approximately $70-$90. Renting a car will cost approximately $23-$35. Park entry fee is 5,000 kip per person.

    You can take a public bus from Vientiane to Ban Hatkhai, a village near the entrance of Phou Khao Khouay National Biodiversity Conservation Area. Buses depart from the Northern Bus Terminal in Vientiane, and the journey takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. From Ban Hatkhai, you can hire a local tuk-tuk or motorbike taxi to take you to the entrance of the conservation area. Alternatively, take a shared taxi (songthaew) from Vientiane to Nam Leuk for about 50,000 LAK (approximately $5 USD) per person. Then, take a tuk-tuk to the park entrance for around 30,000 LAK (approximately $3 USD). Bus fare: ~30,000 LAK. Tuk-tuk from Ban Hatkhai or Nam Leuk to park entrance: ~50,000 LAK.
