    From the center of West End, head east on Congress Street. Continue on Congress Street for approximately 0.5 miles. You will cross over the intersection with State Street. Keep walking straight; you will soon see the Portland Observatory on your left at 138 Congress St. Look for the historic tower, which is hard to miss!

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    If you prefer public transit, you can catch the METRO bus. Head to the nearest bus stop on Congress Street (look for the METRO bus stop signs). Take the #8 bus heading towards 'Maine Mall.' After 4 stops, get off at the 'Congress St + State St' stop. From there, walk back about 2 blocks west on Congress Street; the Portland Observatory will be on your right at 138 Congress St. Note that the bus fare is $1.50.
