Getting There

  • Public Transit - Bus

    From any point in South Portland, head to the nearest bus stop for the Greater Portland METRO. Look for the Route 1 bus, which services South Portland to Falmouth. Board the bus and ride it towards Falmouth. Ask the driver to alert you when you reach the stop for US-1 & Andrews Avenue. Once you disembark, head west on Andrews Avenue. Follow the road until you see the entrance to Mackworth Island State Park on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are already near the waterfront in South Portland, walk north along the Greenbelt Walkway, which runs parallel to the coastline. Continue walking until you reach the Casco Bay Bridge. Cross over the bridge and keep walking straight. You will eventually find yourself on US-1. Turn left onto US-1 and walk until you reach Andrews Avenue. Turn right onto Andrews Avenue, and after a short walk, you will see the entrance to Mackworth Island State Park.

    If you're cycling, start from the South Portland Greenbelt. Head north along the Greenbelt path until you reach the Casco Bay Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto US-1. Once on US-1, make a right turn onto Andrews Avenue. Cycle down Andrews Avenue, and you will soon arrive at the entrance to Mackworth Island State Park.
