Start at the South Portland Bus Terminal located at 100 Thompson's Point Rd, South Portland, ME. Take the METRO bus Route 21 toward the 'Cape Elizabeth - Portland' destination. The trip should take approximately 25 minutes. Disembark at the 'Portland Head Light' stop, which is the closest stop to the lighthouse. From there, follow the pedestrian path leading to Fort Williams Park where Portland Head Light is situated.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, start at the South Portland Waterfront. Head towards the Casco Bay Bridge and cross it on the pedestrian walkway. Once you reach the Cape Elizabeth side, continue straight onto Shore Rd. Follow Shore Rd for about 2 miles; it will lead you directly to Fort Williams Park. The walk will take around 45 minutes to an hour depending on your pace. Upon entering the park, follow the signs to Portland Head Light.

For those who enjoy biking, you can rent a bike at local shops in South Portland. Start your ride from the South Portland Greenbelt Trail, which connects to the waterfront. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with Shore Rd. Turn left onto Shore Rd and continue biking for about 2 miles until you reach Fort Williams Park. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes. Once at the park, you can easily navigate to the Portland Head Light.
