To reach Liwonde National Park from Livingstonia by car, start by heading southwest on the M6 road towards Mzuzu. Continue for about 45 km until you reach the junction with the M1 highway. Turn right onto the M1 and drive for approximately 140 km. Look for signs directing you to Liwonde National Park. The park entrance is located off the M1, and you will need to pay an entrance fee at the gate, which is around 10,000 MWK for foreign visitors. Ensure your vehicle has sufficient fuel for the journey, as petrol stations can be sparse.

Public Transport (Minibus)
To take public transportation from Livingstonia to Liwonde National Park, find a minibus (known locally as a 'matola') heading to Mzuzu. These can be found at the main minibus station in Livingstonia. After about a 45-minute ride, alight at the Mzuzu bus terminal. From there, transfer to another minibus heading towards Liwonde, which will take approximately 2 to 3 hours.
