If you are driving to Rock Garden Mt Tambuyukon, start from the Kinabalu National Park headquarters. Head south on the main road towards Ranau. Follow the signs for Ranau, which will lead you through a scenic route. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the junction to the Tambuyukon trailhead. Turn left onto the dirt road. It is recommended to have a 4WD vehicle as the road can be rough. Continue driving for about 10 kilometers until you arrive at the parking area near the trailhead. From there, you will need to hike approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach the Rock Garden.

For those relying on public transport, you can take a bus from Kota Kinabalu to Ranau. Buses leave regularly from the bus terminal in Kota Kinabalu. The fare is around RM 30 and the journey takes approximately 2-3 hours. Once you arrive in Ranau, you can take a taxi to the Tambuyukon trailhead. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand, as it can vary. The taxi ride will cost around RM 50 and take about 30 minutes. From the trailhead, it's a short hike of approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach the Rock Garden.
