    From Silver Spring Metro Station, board the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Travel for four stops and get off at the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Station. At Gallery Place, transfer to the Yellow Line towards Greenbelt. Travel one stop and get off at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. From L'Enfant Plaza, transfer to the Blue Line towards Franconia-Springfield. Travel one stop and get off at the Smithsonian Metro Station. From the Smithsonian Station, walk east towards the National Mall. Continue walking for about 10 minutes until you reach Constitution Ave. NW. The National Gallery of Art will be on your left.

  • Bus

    From the Silver Spring Transit Center, take the Z6 Metrobus towards the Navy Yard. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes, passing through various neighborhoods until you reach the National Gallery of Art stop. After getting off, walk east along Constitution Ave. NW for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at the National Gallery of Art.

  • Walking

    If you're up for a walk, start from the Silver Spring Town Center. Head south on Georgia Ave. towards Wayne Ave. Continue straight until you reach the Silver Spring Metro Station. From there, follow the Metro guidance as previously described, or you can walk directly to the National Gallery of Art by heading south on Georgia Ave. which becomes 16th St NW. Continue until you reach the National Mall. Walk east towards Constitution Ave. NW, and you will find the National Gallery of Art on your left.
