Subway
If you're starting from downtown Boston, make your way to the South Station subway station. Take the Red Line (the subway line with red signs) towards Ashmont/Braintree. After four stops, get off at the Broadway station. From Broadway, transfer to the Silver Line at the South Boston Waterfront bus terminal. Take the Silver Line SL1 or SL2 bus towards South Station and disembark at the 'World Trade Center' stop. The Institute of Contemporary Art is just a short walk from there.

You can catch the #9 or #11 bus from various locations in South Boston. If you catch the #9 bus, get off at the 'Seaport Blvd @ World Trade Center' stop. If you're on the #11 bus, exit at the 'Seaport Blvd @ World Trade Center' stop as well. From either bus stop, the Institute of Contemporary Art is a five-minute walk along the waterfront.

If you are near the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, you can easily walk to the Institute of Contemporary Art. Head east on Summer Street until you reach the intersection with Seaport Boulevard. Turn left onto Seaport Boulevard and continue walking for about 10-15 minutes. The museum will be on your left at 25 Harbor Shore Dr.
