    If you are in the heart of Downtown Boston, you can easily walk to Boston's Old City Hall located at 45 School St. Start by heading east on either Washington St or State St. If you are at Boston City Hall, which is nearby, walk south on Washington St until you reach School St. Turn left onto School St, and you will see the Old City Hall ahead on your right. The walk should take about 5 to 10 minutes depending on your starting point.

  • Public Transit - Subway

    If you prefer to take public transit, you can use the MBTA subway. The closest subway stop is the Government Center Station on the Green Line. From the station, exit and head southeast on Congress St toward City Hall Plaza. Turn left on City Hall Ave and then right onto School St. Boston's Old City Hall will be on your left. Note that a single ride on the subway costs $2.40.

    You can also consider taking a bus to get closer to Old City Hall. Check the MBTA bus routes that serve Downtown Boston, such as buses 1, 43, or 47.
