Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the South End, head northwest towards Washington Street. Walk along Washington Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Boylston Street. Turn left onto Boylston Street and continue walking for another 0.3 miles. You will see the entrance to the Public Garden on your right at the intersection of Boylston Street and Charles Street. • Public Transit (Bus)

  From the South End, you can take the MBTA bus route 43 or 1. Board the bus at any nearby bus stop along Washington Street or Tremont Street. The closest bus stop is at Washington St & W 8th St. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at Tremont St & Boylston St. From there, walk towards Boylston Street and head west for about 0.2 miles until you reach the Public Garden entrance at Charles Street. Please note that a one-way fare on the bus is $2.40.

• Public Transit (Subway)

  You can take the MBTA subway (the 'T') from the South End. Head to the nearest subway station, which might be the 'Back Bay' station on the Orange Line or 'Tufts Medical Center' on the Orange Line as well. Take the Orange Line towards North Station and get off at Haymarket Station. From Haymarket, walk southeast for about 0.5 miles along Hanover Street, then turn left onto Boylston Street. Walk for another 0.3 miles and you'll find the Public Garden entrance on your left at Charles Street. The subway fare is $2.40.
