Getting There

  • Bus

    From Waltham's central area, walk to the Waltham MBTA bus stop on Main St at Waltham Common. Take the #70 or #70A bus towards Alewife. Ride the bus for approximately 30 minutes and get off at Alewife Station. Once there, transfer to the Alewife subway station and take the Red Line towards Ashmont/Braintree. After about 10 stops, disembark at Kendall/MIT Station. Exit the station and walk northeast for about 10 minutes along Main Street until you reach 77 Massachusetts Ave.

  • Train

    Head to the Waltham MBTA train station located on Moody Street. Board the Fitchburg Line train towards Boston's North Station. This journey will take around 25 minutes. Once you arrive at North Station, follow the signs to the Green Line subway and take the Green Line towards Kenmore. At Park Street Station, transfer to the Red Line towards Alewife. Get off at Kendall/MIT Station, and from there, walk northeast for about 10 minutes along Main Street until you arrive at 77 Massachusetts Ave.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service in Waltham. Start by heading east on Main St, then continue to follow the bike lanes along the Charles River Pathway. This scenic route will take you directly towards Cambridge. After approximately 5 miles, you'll reach the MIT campus area. Follow the signs to 77 Massachusetts Ave, which is located near the center of the campus.

  • Walking

    If you are inclined to walk, start from the Waltham Common area. Head east on Main St and then take a left on to Moody St. Continue straight for about 1 mile until you reach the Charles River. Cross the river via the pedestrian bridge and follow the path to the Alewife area. Once across, head straight for another mile until you reach 77 Massachusetts Ave. This walk is approximately 2.5 miles and will take around 50 minutes.
