If you are in the main area of Ixtapa, start walking towards the main road, Boulevard Ixtapa. Head south towards the intersection with Calle del Bosque. Turn left onto Calle del Bosque and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Boulevard Paseo de Ixtapa. Turn right onto Boulevard Paseo de Ixtapa and walk straight until you reach the end of the promenade. From there, follow the signs directing you towards Zihuatanejo. Continue straight as the road begins to curve, and you will eventually reach the town of Zihuatanejo. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Upon entering Zihuatanejo, keep walking towards the beach area, and soon you will see the vibrant Malecón Zihuatanejo on your left.

Locate the nearest bus stop in Ixtapa, which is typically found near the main square or hotel zones. Board a local bus heading to Zihuatanejo; the fare is usually very affordable. Inform the driver that you wish to stop at the Malecón. The bus ride should take around 15-20 minutes.
