Car
From Oaxaca City, take the carretera 190 (Federal Highway 190) east towards Tlacolula de Matamoros. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the town of Tlacolula. Continue on the highway and follow the signs for 'Yagul.' After about 10 more kilometers, turn left onto a smaller road that leads directly to the archaeological site of Yagul. The entrance is well-marked and you can park nearby.

From the central bus station in Oaxaca City, take a bus to Tlacolula de Matamoros. The bus ride typically costs around 20-30 pesos and takes about 30 minutes. Once in Tlacolula, look for local taxis or colectivos (shared vans) heading to Yagul. The taxi ride will cost approximately 60-80 pesos and takes about 15 minutes. Make sure to confirm that the driver knows the way to Yagul before starting your journey.

Walking (from local drop-off)
If you arrive by taxi or colectivo, you may need to walk the final stretch to the archaeological site. The entrance is about a 10-minute walk from where you are dropped off. Follow the signs towards Yagul, and enjoy the scenic views along the path leading up to the site.
