Car
If you are driving, start on M-22, which runs along the scenic route through Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Follow M-22 north until you reach the intersection with Lake Michigan Drive (CR-651) near the village of Empire. Turn left onto Lake Michigan Drive and continue for about 2 miles. The Robert H. Manning Memorial Lighthouse will be on your right at the end of the road, with a small parking area available.

If you are using public transportation, take the local bus service, which connects various towns around Sleeping Bear Dunes. You will need to board the bus heading towards Empire. Get off at the Empire stop. From there, it is approximately a 30-minute walk (about 1.5 miles) to the lighthouse. Head west on Front Street, then turn left onto Lake Michigan Drive. Follow Lake Michigan Drive until you reach the lighthouse. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited.

For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike in the nearby towns, such as Glen Arbor or Empire. Once you have your bike, take the scenic trails through Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Follow the signs towards Empire and then head west on Lake Michigan Drive. The ride to the Robert H. Manning Memorial Lighthouse is approximately 3 miles from Empire, and the area is mostly flat, making it suitable for cyclists of all levels.
