Getting There

Walking
Start at the Winona County Historical Society located at 160 Johnson Street, Winona, MN. Head south on Johnson Street towards 3rd Street. Turn left onto 3rd Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street and continue straight. You'll pass several shops and cafes; this is a good place to stop for a snack if you like. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto the bike path that runs along the Mississippi River. Follow the path for approximately 2 miles, enjoying the scenic views of the river. When you reach the intersection with East 5th Street, continue straight onto the bike path as it veers away from the road. Follow the signs toward the Great River State Trail.

Start at the Winona City Hall at 177 Main Street, Winona, MN. Head east on Main Street towards 5th Street. Turn right on 5th Street and continue to the Great River State Trail entrance. Follow the trail north for about 3 miles. You will enjoy beautiful views of the Mississippi River and the surrounding landscapes. As you approach Fountain City, keep an eye out for signs guiding you toward Angel Bluff. Once you reach Old State Hwy 35, continue until you see the entrance to Angel Bluff nature preserve on your left.

Look for the entrance to Angel Bluff on your right; it should be well-marked with signs indicating the nature preserve.
