Public Transport
The most common way to reach Orheiul Vechi is from Chișinău. From Chișinău's Central Bus Station (Gara Centrală), take a marshrutka (minibus) to Trebujeni or Butuceni. Buses leave approximately every 30 minutes. A ticket costs around 46 MDL. The journey takes about an hour. From Trebujeni, it's a 30-minute walk to Orheiul Vechi, while from Butuceni, it's only a 10-minute walk. Some marshrutkas stop at both villages, so be sure to ask the driver.

Taxi
Taxis or ride-sharing services like Yandex Go are available in Chișinău. A taxi ride to Orheiul Vechi will cost approximately 300-400 MDL and take around 45 minutes. Note that while more convenient, this is significantly more expensive than public transport. There may be limited taxi availability in Orheiul Vechi for the return journey, so arrange a pickup in advance if needed.

Walking
Once you arrive in either Butuceni or Trebujeni by marshrutka, the final approach to the main Orheiul Vechi complex involves walking. From Butuceni, cross the bridge over the Răut River and follow the trail uphill for about 15 minutes to reach the Cave Monastery. From Trebujeni, follow the road towards Butuceni until you see signs for Orheiul Vechi, then follow the trail. Be prepared for some uphill walking and uneven terrain.
