Car
If you are driving from central Terelj National Park, head southeast on the main road (A-1) towards Ulaanbaatar. Continue for about 20 km until you reach the junction for the BGD - 16 khoroo area. Turn left and follow the signs towards Gandantegchinlen. The temple is approximately 10 km from the junction. Look for signs indicating the temple as you approach. Parking is available near the entrance.

Take a bus from the Terelj National Park entrance to Ulaanbaatar. Buses run regularly and cost about 1,500 MNT. Once in Ulaanbaatar, head to the bus terminal near the State Department Store and catch a local bus or minivan that goes to BGD - 16 khoroo. The fare is around 500 MNT. Get off at the stop closest to Gandantegchinlen, which is a short walk from the bus stop. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions, as the temple is well-known.
