Getting There

Car
From Terelj National Park, head southwest on the main road towards Ulaanbaatar. Continue driving for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction at the town of Zuunmod. Take a left turn towards Arkhangai region. Follow the road for approximately 100 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing towards Ugii Lake, which will appear about 15 kilometers before you reach the lake itself. The lake is situated just off the main road, and there will be a dirt road leading to the lake area.

Public Transportation
From Terelj National Park, you can take a minibus (known locally as a 'marshrutka') towards Ulaanbaatar. Once you arrive at the Ulaanbaatar bus station, find a bus heading to Arkhangai. The journey will take around 2 to 3 hours. Upon arriving in Arkhangai, you will need to hire a taxi or a local driver to take you to Ugii Lake, which is about 20 kilometers away. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand; expect to pay around 10,000 to 20,000 MNT depending on the driver.

If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from Terelj National Park. It is advisable to arrange for a taxi service in advance. The cost will vary based on your negotiation skills and the taxi company, but expect to pay around 80,000 to 120,000 MNT for a round trip to Ugii Lake. The taxi will take you directly to the lake, which is approximately 120 kilometers from the park.
