Start from the central area of Ulaanbaatar, such as Sukhbaatar Square. Head south towards Peace Avenue (Baruun Shireet Street) for about 15 minutes. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Chinggis Avenue. Turn left onto Chinggis Avenue and walk for another 10 minutes. You will see a large statue of a Buddha on your right; this indicates you are close. Continue on Chinggis Avenue until you reach the entrance of Gandantegchinlen Monastery, located at the end of the street on your left.
Public Transport (Bus)
From the central area, find the nearest bus stop and take bus number 11, which goes towards Gandantegchinlen Monastery. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'Gandan' (Гандан). After getting off, walk approximately 5 minutes south. You will see the entrance to the monastery on your right.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Sukhbaatar Square. Head south towards Peace Avenue and continue onto Chinggis Avenue. The ride will take about 20-30 minutes, depending on your speed. Be cautious as you navigate through traffic. The monastery will be on your left; look for the large Buddha statue as a landmark.
