Continue driving for approximately 36 miles until you reach the intersection with NE Entrance Rd. Turn onto NE Entrance Rd, which leads directly to Lamar Valley. Lamar Valley is around 10 miles from this turn, and you will pass through scenic landscapes. Make sure to keep an eye out for wildlife along the way.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transportation, start by taking a bus or shuttle service to the nearest major city, such as Cody, Wyoming. From Cody, you can find seasonal shuttle services that go to Yellowstone National Park. Once in the park, utilize the shuttle buses that operate within Yellowstone. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance, as it may vary by season. The shuttle will take you to the Northeast Entrance, and from there, you can either walk or arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to Lamar Valley, which is approximately 10 miles away.
Bike
For the more adventurous, biking is an option. You can rent a bike in the nearby towns or in Yellowstone. Start from the Beartooth Highway and ride towards the Northeast Entrance. The ride will take you through stunning landscapes, but be prepared for challenging terrain. Once you reach NE Entrance Rd, it’s a 10-mile ride to Lamar Valley.
