Getting There

  • Hiking

    From the Apgar Visitor Center, take the Trail of the Cedars, which is a short and accessible loop trail. After completing this loop, continue along the Avalanche Lake Trail for approximately 2 miles until you reach the footbridge over Avalanche Creek. Here, you'll find a trail marker that points towards Goat Lick. Follow the signs and continue along the trail for about another 1 mile, which will lead you to the Goat Lick viewing area.

    Start your journey at the Apgar Village. Rent a bike from a local rental shop if you haven't already. Follow the Going-to-the-Sun Road toward the west, enjoying the scenic views. After about 3.5 miles, look for a marked bike path that leads toward the Goat Lick area. This path eventually intersects with the Goat Lick viewpoint trail, allowing you to secure your bike at the designated bike rack and enjoy the views.
