Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Apgar Visitor Center, head east on the Going-to-the-Sun Road for about 0.3 miles. You will pass the scenic views of Lake McDonald on your left. After that, continue on the same road, keeping an eye out for signs directing you towards West Glacier. Walk for approximately 1.5 miles until you reach the junction with Grinnell Drive. Turn left onto Grinnell Drive, and the Glacier National Park Headquarters will be on your right after about 0.5 miles.

    Starting from the Apgar Campground, head east on the bike path towards the Going-to-the-Sun Road. After about 0.5 miles, merge onto the Going-to-the-Sun Road and follow it for approximately 1.5 miles. Look for signs pointing toward West Glacier, and continue to ride until you reach Grinnell Drive. Turn left onto Grinnell Drive and bike for another 0.5 miles. The Glacier National Park Headquarters will be located on your right.
