Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the West Thumb Geyser Basin, head south along the designated trails toward Grant Village. Continue on the path until you reach Grant Village Road. Once you arrive at the road, turn left and walk for approximately 0.5 miles. You will see the Grant Visitor Center on your right.

  • Walking

    From the Fishing Bridge Visitor Center, walk west along the Grand Loop Road. This is about a 2.5-mile walk. Stay on the side of the road meant for pedestrians, and enjoy the scenic views of Yellowstone Lake. After about 30-40 minutes of walking, you will reach the Grant Visitor Center located on your left.

  • Walking

    For those coming from the Lake Lodge area, walk south towards Lake Village. Once you reach the intersection with Grant Village Road, turn left. Continue walking for about 1 mile, and you will find the Grant Visitor Center on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are at the Old Faithful area, you can begin your journey by following the marked trails towards the Grand Loop Road heading south. This is a longer trek, around 10 miles, and will take several hours. Once you reach the Grand Loop Road, head east until you reach the intersection with Grant Village Road, then turn left. The Grant Visitor Center will be approximately 5 miles down that road on your right.
