If you're driving from Kotor, head northeast on E65 toward the town of Risan. After about 10 minutes, take the exit toward Kotor and follow the signs to the Old Town. Once you reach the Old Town, find parking nearby (public parking may incur a fee). From the parking area, walk towards the northern entrance of the Old Town where the trail begins. The trail to the Top Of The Old Kotor Fort is clearly marked, and you will start at the base of the fortress.

If you're using public transportation, take a bus from nearby towns like Perast or Tivat to Kotor. Buses run frequently and are affordable. Once you arrive at the Kotor bus station, walk towards the Old Town. The entrance to the trail begins at the northern part of the Old Town. It's about a 10-minute walk from the bus station to the trailhead. Look for signs directing you to the fortress.

Once you are in Kotor Old Town, head to the northern gate which is near the Church of St. Luke. The trail begins at the back of the fortifications and is marked. Prepare for a steep ascent, and ensure you have comfortable shoes and plenty of water. The walk to the top can take about 30-90 minutes depending on your pace.
