Walking
Starting from the Old Town of Kotor, head towards the northern exit of the Old Town. You will find a large gate called the Sea Gate (Morska Vrata) which leads out to the waterfront. Once you exit, turn left and follow the waterfront road (Obala kapetana Danka Drekovića) until you reach the base of the fortress trail. The trailhead is marked by a sign indicating the entrance to the Old Kotor Fort Trail.

As you begin the ascent on the Old Kotor Fort Trail, you will encounter a series of stone steps and pathways. Follow the trail which is well-marked with signs. The trail will lead you up through the fortress walls, and you will begin to enjoy stunning views of the Bay of Kotor. Continue climbing until you reach the first viewpoint, which is a great spot for photos.

Continue following the trail as it winds upward. You will pass several old fort structures and churches along the way. Make sure to take breaks as needed, as the climb can be strenuous.
