Nestled between the bustling cities of Fes and Marrakech, the Middle Atlas region of Morocco offers a serene escape into nature's beauty. One of the highlights of the Middle Atlas is the town of Ifrane, often referred to as 'Little Switzerland' due to its alpine architecture and clean, well-maintained streets. Ifrane is a popular spot for skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. Nearby, the serene Dayet Aoua Lake offers beautiful picnic spots and opportunities for bird watching. The scenic journey through the Middle Atlas reveals stunning landscapes, from rolling hills to rugged cliffs. Azrou, another key town in the region, is famous for its weekly market and the nearby cedar forests, home to Barbary macaques.
