Car
If you are driving from Kathmandu, take the Prithvi Highway (the road to Pokhara). After approximately 30 km, take the exit toward Markhu (F180). Follow the road signs, and after another 25 km, you will reach Markhu. From Markhu, follow the road towards Khulekhani Lake. The viewpoint is located at coordinates 27.5991892, 85.1633351. Make sure you have a GPS or a map app for precise navigation. Parking might be limited, so consider arriving early.

Public Transportation
To reach Khulekhani Lake Viewpoint using public transport, first take a microbus or a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Buses frequently depart from the Gongabu Bus Park. The journey takes about 6-8 hours, costing around NPR 800-1500 depending on the service level. Once you reach the town of Naubise, transfer to a local bus heading towards Markhu. This leg of the journey will take about 1-1.5 hours and may cost around NPR 200. From Markhu, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) towards the viewpoint or hire a local taxi for around NPR 500-1000.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Kathmandu to Khulekhani Lake Viewpoint. This option is more expensive, generally ranging from NPR 4000 to NPR 6000 for a one-way trip. The taxi will take you directly to the viewpoint, but ensure to negotiate the fare in advance.
