If you are in the Thamel area, walk towards the Ratna Park bus station. From there, take a microbus or a local bus heading towards Kirtipur. The fare is usually around 30-40 NPR. Once you board, inform the driver you are going to Kirtipur. The journey should take about 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Kirtipur main bus stop. From the bus stop, walk straight for about 10 minutes, passing local shops and houses. You will see signs directing you to the Kagyu Institute of Buddhist Studies. Keep walking until you reach the main entrance of the institute.
