Car
From Zaanse Schans, take the N516 road heading southeast towards Amsterdam. Follow the signs for A8 towards Amsterdam. After about 20 minutes, merge onto the A10 ring road, and continue until you see signs for the IJburg exit. Take the exit for IJburg and follow the signs towards Vuurtoreneiland. Note that parking is limited near the ferry terminal, so be prepared to park a bit further away and walk. There may be a parking fee.

Public Transportation (Train and Tram)
From Zaanse Schans, walk to the nearest bus stop and take bus line 391 to Zaandam station (approximately 10 minutes). From Zaandam, board a train to Amsterdam Central Station (about 17 minutes). Once at Amsterdam Central, exit the station and take tram line 26 towards IJburg. After about 15 minutes, get off at the 'IJburg' stop. From there, follow the signs to the ferry terminal to catch the ferry to Vuurtoreneiland. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes and there may be a small fee for the ferry.
