Car
If you are already within Lake Mead National Recreation Area, start by heading to the main road, Lake Mead Parkway (NV-167). From there, follow the signs directing you to Overton. Continue on NV-167 until you reach the intersection with NV-169. Turn right onto NV-169 and follow it until you reach the town of Overton. The Balancing Rock is located about 10 miles northeast of Overton. You will see signs for the Valley of Fire State Park which will guide you to the area. Parking is available at the site.

Public transportation options are limited in the Lake Mead area. If you are starting from Las Vegas, consider taking a Greyhound or a regional bus service to Overton (please check the current schedules online as services may vary). Once in Overton, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining 10 miles to Balancing Rock. Be prepared for potential wait times for rideshare services due to the remote location.
