From Elko, NV, take US-93 South for approximately 40 miles. Turn right onto NV-229 and continue for about 25 miles. You will enter Ruby Valley. Follow the signs for Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge, which is located about 10 miles further along NV-229. The refuge is situated on the east side of the road.

If you're coming from Winnemucca, NV, take I-80 East to Elko. From Elko, follow the directions provided above. This route is approximately 90 miles and will take about 1.5 hours.

Public transportation options are limited. However, you can take a Greyhound bus to Elko, NV. From Elko, you will need to rent a car or arrange for a taxi to reach Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge, as there are no direct public transport options to the refuge.
