Sunset Rock: A Serene Lookout in Keene

Getting There

• Walking

  Start at Main Street in downtown Keene. Walk east towards Washington Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Winchester Street. Turn left onto Winchester Street and walk until you reach the entrance to the Ashuelot River Rail Trail. Follow the trail along the river until you find the signs for Sunset Rock. The entrance to the trail is well-marked, and you will see signs indicating the direction to Sunset Rock. Continue along the trail, which will lead you to the summit of Sunset Rock, offering beautiful views of the surrounding area.

  Begin at the Keene Recreation Center located at 312 Washington St. From the Recreation Center, head south on Washington Street towards the downtown area. Once you reach Main Street, turn right and follow it until you reach the Ashuelot River Rail Trail entrance. Take the trail heading east, which will lead you to Sunset Rock. The bike path is clearly marked, and you can enjoy a scenic ride along the river before reaching the destination.

Once you disembark, walk towards the Ashuelot River Rail Trail entrance, which should be within a short walking distance from the bus stop.
