    From the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, head north on Long Hill Rd toward US-202 N. Turn right onto US-202 N and follow it for about 5 miles. Merge onto I-287 N toward Morristown. Continue on I-287 N for approximately 15 miles. Take exit 39A for I-78 E toward New York City. Merge onto I-78 E and follow signs for US-1/US-9. Take exit 1B toward the Holland Tunnel. Continue on I-495, then take exit 17 toward Brooklyn. Follow signs for the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278 E). Take exit 27 toward Williamsburg Bridge/Brooklyn. Merge onto Broadway, then turn left onto Brooklyn Ave. The museum will be on your right at 145 Brooklyn Ave.

    From the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, take a taxi or rideshare to the nearest train station, which is the Bernardsville train station. Board a NJ Transit train heading to New York Penn Station. Once you arrive at Penn Station, transfer to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and take an LIRR train toward Atlantic Terminal. At Atlantic Terminal, exit the train and take the 3 subway line toward New Lots Ave. Get off at the Nostrand Ave station. From there, walk east on Atlantic Ave until you reach Brooklyn Ave. Turn left onto Brooklyn Ave and the Brooklyn Children's Museum will be on your left at 145 Brooklyn Ave.
