Getting There

Bus
From the central bus station in Christchurch, take the 'Rangiora' bus (Route 84) or 'Lyttelton' bus (Route 28) heading towards Lyttelton. Get off at the 'Little River' stop, which is about an hour's journey. Once you arrive at Little River, the Little River Information Centre is situated on State Highway 75, just a short walk down the road from the bus stop. Head southeast on State Highway 75 for approximately 300 meters, and you will see the Information Centre on your right.

Train and Bus
Take the TranzAlpine train from Christchurch to Springfield. The train departs from the Christchurch Railway Station. Once you arrive in Springfield, exit the train station and look for the local bus service. Board the bus heading to Little River. This journey may take about 30-40 minutes. After arriving at Little River, the Little River Information Centre is a short walk from the bus stop. Head southeast on State Highway 75 for about 300 meters to reach your destination.

Bike
If you enjoy cycling, you can bike from Christchurch to Little River. Start your journey at the Christchurch City Centre and take the Little River Rail Trail. The trail is approximately 50 kilometers long and follows the old railway line. Enjoy the scenic views along the way. Once you reach Little River, the Information Centre is located on State Highway 75. Follow the trail until you see the Information Centre on your right.

Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and are up for a long walk, you can walk from Christchurch to Little River. This would be a lengthy trek of about 50 kilometers, taking approximately 10-12 hours. Start from the central city area and follow the road signs leading towards Little River. It is advisable to take breaks and hydrate along the way. Once you reach Little River, the Little River Information Centre will be on State Highway 75, approximately 300 meters down the road from the main entrance of the town.
