    Start by taking the bus from Central Christchurch to Lyttelton. You can catch the bus from the Christchurch Bus Interchange at 37 Lichfield Street. Look for the bus number 28, which will take you to Lyttelton. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Lyttelton, get off at the bus stop on Norwich Quay.

  • Walk

    From the bus stop on Norwich Quay, walk towards the Lyttelton Harbour. You’ll want to head towards the foothills of the Port Hills. Follow the road signs for the Mount Herbert Track, which is well-marked. The walk from the bus stop to the trailhead will take around 15-20 minutes.
