Start your journey from the Fox Glacier township. Head south on State Highway 6 towards Franz Josef. The drive is approximately 30 minutes (25 km). Look out for the signs indicating Franz Josef and Canavans Knob. Once in Franz Josef, continue on State Highway 6, and follow the signs to Westland Tai Poutini National Park. The Canavans Knob track begins from the car park at the end of the road.
