    From the center of Fox Glacier, head southwest on State Highway 6 (SH6) towards the town of Franz Josef. After approximately 5.5 kilometers, turn left onto Matheson Road. Follow Matheson Road for about 3 kilometers, and you will reach the Lake Matheson car park on your left. Parking here is free.
