If you're driving from central Fox Glacier, head south on State Highway 6. Follow the road for about 5 kilometers. You will see signs for 'Franz Josef' and 'The Helicopter Line' along the way. The entrance to The Helicopter Line will be on your left at Main South Road, Franz Josef / Waiau 7856. There is parking available on site.

For those using public transport, check the local bus schedules for services that run between Fox Glacier and Franz Josef. The bus journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the Main South Road intersection. From there, it is a short walk (about 1 kilometer) to The Helicopter Line. Walk along Main South Road heading south until you reach the location at Main South Road, Franz Josef / Waiau 7856.
