Car
If you're driving, start from the center of Fox Glacier village. Head southeast on State Highway 6 towards Franz Josef Glacier. After approximately 1.5 km, look for the sign for the Westland Tai Poutini National Park on your left. Turn onto the gravel road, which will lead you to the car park for the Terrace Walk. The car park is well marked and can accommodate several vehicles. Note that parking is free.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, check with local bus services such as the Kiwi Experience or InterCity, which may have routes that stop near Fox Glacier. Once in Fox Glacier, you can walk to the Terrace Walk starting point, which is only about a 20-minute walk from the town center. Head southeast on State Highway 6, then take the gravel road leading into the Westland Tai Poutini National Park. This will lead you directly to the car park of the Terrace Walk.

To walk to the Terrace Walk from Fox Glacier town center, exit the main road and head southeast on State Highway 6. Continue for about 1.5 km until you see the sign for the Westland Tai Poutini National Park. Follow the gravel road until you reach the car park for the Terrace Walk. The walk is suitable for most fitness levels and offers beautiful views along the way.
