If you're starting from the New Plymouth city center (like from the New Plymouth i-SITE Visitor Centre on Brougham Street), head west along Brougham Street until you reach Devon Street. Turn left onto Devon Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with the Waiwhakaiho River. Follow the signs towards the Coastal Walkway, which will lead you towards the bridge. The walk takes approximately 30-40 minutes.

Start at the Coastal Walkway entrance near the New Plymouth i-SITE Visitor Centre, and follow the pathway along the coast. The bike ride will take about 15-20 minutes.
