Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start your journey in the town of Nelson, which is about 70 km away from Hope Saddle Lookout. Take State Highway 6 (SH6) heading towards Blenheim. After approximately 40 km, turn right onto Hope Road. Follow Hope Road for about 10 km until you reach the intersection with Glenhope Road. Turn right onto Glenhope Road and continue for about 5 km. Look for the signs directing you to Hope Saddle Lookout. There is a parking area located near the lookout point.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, check the local bus services from Nelson to Glenhope. You may need to take a bus from Nelson to Richmond, then transfer to the bus heading towards Murchison. You will need to inform the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to Hope Saddle Lookout, which is on Glenhope Road. From there, it may require a short walk (approximately 2 km) to reach the lookout point, so be prepared for a bit of a hike.
