Bus
From the center of Wanaka, walk to the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Information Centre located on Ardmore Street. There, you can catch a bus heading towards Queenstown. Make sure to check the schedule for the next bus to Queenstown, as they run frequently. Once you arrive in Queenstown, get off at the Queenstown Bus Station. From the bus station, you can take a taxi or a rideshare service directly to Lake Hayes Wines located at 10 Arrowtown-Lake Hayes Road, which should take about 15 minutes.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Wanaka. Start your journey from the Wanaka town center and head towards the Lake Wanaka foreshore. Follow the trail along the lake until you reach the Lake Hayes Road. Turn left onto Arrowtown-Lake Hayes Road and continue biking straight for about 18 kilometers. Lake Hayes Wines will be on your right. This scenic route may take around 1.5 hours, depending on your pace.

Walking to Lake Hayes Wines is not advisable due to the distance (approximately 20 kilometers) and the lack of pedestrian paths.
