Walking
Start at the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 103 Ardmore Street. Exit the visitor centre and head south on Ardmore Street towards the lake. Continue walking until you reach the lakefront, then turn left onto Lakeside Road. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 km until you reach the intersection with Mount Aspiring Road. At this intersection, cross over to the other side of the road and follow Mount Aspiring Road. After about 200 meters, you will see a sign for Wanaka Hill Park Lookout on your right. Follow the trail that leads up the hill towards the lookout. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views as you ascend. It should take about 30-45 minutes to reach the lookout from the road.

Biking
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in Wanaka. Start at the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre at 103 Ardmore Street. From there, head south on Ardmore Street towards the lake and continue onto Lakeside Road. Follow Lakeside Road for approximately 1.5 km. At the intersection with Mount Aspiring Road, turn right and cycle about 200 meters until you see the sign for Wanaka Hill Park Lookout. Lock your bike at the trailhead and proceed on foot for the remaining ascent up the trail. The trail is well-maintained and takes about 30-45 minutes to walk to the lookout.
