Walking
Start at the Wellington central bus station (also known as the Wellington Railway Station) located at 1 Bunny Street, Wellington. From the bus station, head east on Bunny Street towards the intersection with Waterloo Quay. Turn right onto Waterloo Quay and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Jervois Quay. Cross over to Jervois Quay and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Customhouse Quay. Turn left onto Customhouse Quay and keep walking until you reach the intersection with Victoria Street. Turn right onto Victoria Street and follow it as it curves to the left, becoming Taranaki Street. Continue walking on Taranaki Street until you reach the intersection with Buckle Street. Here, turn left onto Buckle Street and continue walking until you reach the entrance to the Mount Victoria Tunnel.

Once you approach the Mount Victoria Tunnel, look for signs directing you to the Mount Victoria Lookout. At the tunnel entrance, cross the road to the footpath on the other side. Continue walking on the footpath towards the tunnel entrance. After passing through the tunnel, continue straight until you reach the first major intersection. Here, turn right onto Majoribanks Street. Continue on Majoribanks Street until you reach 109 Majoribanks Street, which is the location of Lookout. The entrance to the lookout area will be on your right.

From the Wellington central bus station, take the number 22 bus towards Kilbirnie. You can catch the bus at the bus stop located on Bunny Street. Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes, and get off at the stop for Majoribanks Street. Once you exit the bus, walk in the direction of Majoribanks Street, continuing straight until you reach 109 Majoribanks Street. The Lookout will be on your right, and you will be able to see the entrance to the lookout area.
